Vintage Fabric Finds!
I have had a lot of fun finding fabrics lately! A visit to a local Antique Mall as well as to downtown flea markets turned up many cute prints...
This purple flowery print is probably my favorite.
I just love to stare at these delish fabrics:)

Scored some upholstery fabric swatches for $1.99!!!!
Imported fabric swatches for a dollar and ninety-nine per book at a local Goodwill store. Yup! You heard that right. I was ecstatic! It was a definite home run after weeks of scouting quality fabrics on a budget. These fabrics have really gorgeous and vibrant colors and most of them are about 12 x 14, big enough to make doll dresses. I can't wait to start sewing!

My Craft Room
I love to create things in the wee hours of night and realize it is not a great idea in the morning :)
Art is my portal to another place that is always happy and calm. When I make things, I go to a place where everything is possible, people are always nice, dreams come true, animals are your friends and unicorns are real. Creating helps me to keep myself together in a crazy world that spins faster than my head. It keeps me away from ideas I can scarcely fathom, the sad and the ugly...

Dress Up Baby Fondant Cake Toppers
I made these cuddly babies by doing basic sugarpaste sculpting and by using a face mold with detailed facial features. I hand painted each face using edible dust mixed with confectioner's glaze.

Designer Bag Fondant
| This is my first ever attempt to making designer bag fondant toppers. I really enjoyed working on the details and loved painting it up with silver dust! :) |

Shabby Chic Cake
I love a beautiful shabby chic party, wedding, baby shower, birthday you name it... Vintage colors like pink, peach,
ivory and grey mixed with natural woods and rustic finishing touches
make me swoon! I guess, I am an old soul trapped in a young woman's body (wink, wink)
Lately, I have been trying to look for an excuse to bake and decorate a shabby chic/vintage-inspired cake. Alas, a lovely friend celebrated another great year of living the good life. Thus, the birth of my not too shabby cake with a gorgeous pale yellow fondant flower on top. I admit, it took me more time making the flower than putting icing on this cake, but it was well worth the painstaking process...
I decided to focus on the soft bluish-grey hue for the base icing and
then accent the surface with a vintage pale yellow flower. I softened the sides with icing streaks and with some edible white pearls to give the cake
a “distressed” but sophisticated look. I really enjoyed making the sugar flower, the
process was really relaxing for me for some reason.

homemade dog treats
What dog doesn't love a homemade treat? My dogs would eat anything but since I love them so much, and want them to live a long, healthy life (sometimes I want to believe dogs are immortal) I make them human grade treats... Here's the link to the awesome recipe:)

the art of making a cake pop
This was my very first try on making cake pops. I got the inspiration from Bakerella and have been making more complicated designs since. Really, it felt like unlocking a skill on a game or something. The rest is history. It was kind of intimidating at first, and obviously, I wasn't much of an expert then (well, at least I think I'm a bit better now, ha!)...My cake balls were too crumbly and since I used cake mix for this, the texture was just so unpredictable. That experience led to me to a series of research to finding the "perfect" homemade cake ball recipe. Loved sculpting cakes since finding the best one. The secret is really cake texture and pliability. You have to find the right frosting to cake ratio to be able to sculpt more sophisticated and intricate designs.
